News

Dan Rafael of ESPN.com reports that Oscar De La Hoya has officailly reached an agreement to fight Manny Pacquiao on December 6th of this year. The fight will be competed at the welterweight limit (147 lbs), two weight classes and 12 pounds higher than the weight limit Pacquiao last competed. De La Hoya’s last fight in May was at 150 pounds but he has not officially competed at the welterweight limit since a 2001 bout with Arturo Gatti.

Manny Pacquiao is considered the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world since Floyd Mayweather’s retirement. De La Hoya will most certainly be the bigger man in the ring. Vegas oddsmakers have opened up the betting with De La Hoya as an 8-5 favorite.
