Two All Stars Headed to the DL.

Carlos Quentin and Ian Kinsler are both going to miss some time before the end of the season.

American League home run leader Quentin has a broken wrist, and the Chicago White Sox said the left fielder will have surgery next week.

Quentin was removed from the lineup before Tuesday’s game because of what the White Sox described then as a sore right forearm, and he hasn’t played since. The team said Friday that he was hurt during Monday’s game at Cleveland.

A screw will be inserted into the wrist, and he will be re-evaluated in two-to-three-weeks. Quentin is batting .288 with 36 homers and 100 RBI.

Texas Rangers All-Star second baseman Kinsler will have season-ending surgery to repair a sports hernia.

Kinsler last played Aug. 17, and an MRI the following day revealed the injury. Kinsler was hopeful of avoiding surgery and possibly playing again this season, but he remains sore and the Rangers said Friday he will have surgery next week.

A first-time All-Star this year, Kinsler hit .319 with 18 homers, 71 RBI, 41 doubles and 26 steals in 121 games.
