90210 – Episode 1-3 Review

Has anyone ever wondered what the CW stands for? Here’s my idea: “Creepily Wealthy” because most of the CW network’s lineup is composed mostly of shows about rich kids (Gossip Girl, Privileged, 90210). Now onto the newest episode. Forgive me if it’s short as I am recovering from a cold. You know how they say that the episode after the pilot is usually pretty weak, well it’s kinda weak here. I was hoping that a new character would show up out of nowhere like in the original Beverly Hills 90210 did with Dylan McKay.

The Wilson parents think that since they moved to California they haven’t had any “Family Nights” so they plan a bowling trip on the worst possible time. Annie has a date with Ty and Dixon is planning a movie night with the guys. Hey ,what do you expect it’s the new Bond flick.  Of course they plan to make sure they still get to be with their friends so they end up showing up. Silver shows up just as the Wilson’s arrive at Lucky Strike bowling Alley. During the game the friends of the kids start to get along with Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and it looks like this could be a bond like the original gang got along with the Walsh parents. Eventually the kids are let go from Family Night. However, we find out that Silver is having problems of her own like Kelly did in the original 90210. Silver is dealing with her still alcoholic mother (makes me wonder if she is related to Paris Hilton or Britney Spears).

Ryan is still trying to ask Kelly out but this time he is successful. He kept talking about a relationship that hasn’t happend yet (really annoying?). Also Kelly is still dropping hints about who the father of her son is (ok seriously just say it’s Dylan already this is getting more annoying than “Who Shot J.R.”) so near the end of the episode she confronts her mother about her drinking (yet again) saying “I’m not going to stand here and watch you do to her what you did to me”. The result: Silver ends up moving in with Kelly. It also gets weird after Dixon finds Silver sleeping in his dad’s car because she doesn’t want to go home because of her mom. Earlier in the episode Dixon attempts to ask out Silver (interesting eh?).

Annie is totally torn between Ethan and Ty (I think Ethan mentioned something about a Hills audition. DREAM ON!!!!).

Naomi was supposed to go to Vegas with her dad during the weekend, but the trip got sidetracked because of a merger that was supposed to happen at her dad’s company. The real reason: he is seeing his mistress which Naomi finds out. Then she goes to Lucky Strike bowling and totally cries on Ethan’s shoulder (didn’t they break up one episode ago?) Later in the episode Naomi tells her mother about the affair and she seems to have known for a long time. Is it just me or does Naomi want her parents to break up? I know what it’s like, except my parents aren’t divorced. My dad works nights and I only get to see him in the mornings and during the weekends. And that’s about it this week.

But next week we have another Brenda appearance (Yay!!!) and also Dixon has money problems so he gets a job at guess where? THE PEACH PIT!!!!!!! Will there be any more chemistry between Dixon and Silver? Will Annie finally figure out who is the right guy for her? Find out…..next week!
