The Hills – Episode 4-7 Review

Oh Lauren, will you ever learn? For an episode where she received less than two minutes of screen time, she sure did get a lot of drama thrown her way. But really, are we at all surprised?

Lauren goes to Italy for some unknown reason and for once, the cameras don’t follow her. Instead, we are stuck with the awkwardness that is Audrina and Lo. Last we saw, these two were talking about how they’ll never be friends. Now, they are having a semi-normal lunch together. To fill in the silent voids, Audrina tells Lo of some really classy stuff Stephanie is doing.

Stephanie stopped by to talk to Audrina and ask her if she thinks it will be okay with Lauren if she dates Doug. We all saw this coming. Well, we knew because the previews, but in no way did Doug ever even show an interest in Stephanie. So my question is…how much are they paying him? Obviously, Audrina tells Stephanie it’s probably not a good idea and she should wait to talk to Lauren. Does she listen? Nope.

She and Doug go on a date and it’s actually kind of strange to see a date that doesn’t include Lauren. Anyway, while at dinner, they decide how to handle the Lauren situation. I think they are both hoping that she won’t find out. Yeah, cause these two don’t realize they are being filmed? “We’ll just tell her we’re friends.” Hah.

Meanwhile, Lo and Audrina actually go out together. You know, cause they have so much in common. They see Heidi and Spencer, and while Lo is extremely uncomfortable, Audrina talks to Heidi like an old friend. She even tells her about the Stephanie situation, which even Heidi finds shady. Audrina and Justin meet up with Heidi and Spencer at one of Heidi’s events and the two seem to becoming friends again. Heidi was almost tolerable in this episode…almost.

Poor Lauren comes home in a good mood and asks Audrina and Lo what she missed. Audrina tells her about Doug and Stephanie. “My Doug?” she asks. Ouch. At this point, she thinks that Stephanie said no or was waiting to talk to her first. I honestly felt bad for her.

Doug and Stephanie’s hope of no one finding out is disrupted by Brody’s mom (how random and convenient) seeing them at dinner. Of course, Brody finds out and tells a really upset and shocked Lauren. “Wait so they did go out?” she asks confusingly. Brody wants to give her a big “I told you so,” but resists. And once again, the Pratt family proves to be extra trustworthy.

Next week will guaranteed be drama-filled as Stephanie and Doug are on the defensive, and Heidi’s mom comes for a visit. It’s gonna be good!
