The members of the Possum Lodge are back for the tenth season of this PBS comedy. I know most of you would never consider PBS much of a comedy station. But this is one of their better shows.

Steve Smith stars as Red Green who is the leader of the Possum Lodge. Through the season Red leads the members of the lodge through a various episodes with the shows unique set up. If you’ve never seen the show, it’s a mix of sketch comedy with a storyline.

There are numerous skits that get used over through the season. They have a “Possum Lodge Word Game” in every episode, where Red tries to get another member of the lodge to say a certain word. It’s usually a lot more difficult than it should be. There are also skits where various members of the lodge give advice to younger male viewers about how to deal with females. Usually this advice is actually pretty good, but given in very unique ways.

There is also a segment in each episode called “Handyman Corner” where Red creates some weird device by duct taping a bunch of other things together. With enough duct tape and a little video magic the machines usually work just as they’re supposed to, or close enough.

The way the episodes follow the main story line is also different than most shows. At the beginning of every show Red comes on screen and talks about some sort of event happening at the lodge. And that is how the story line moves. After a couple of the funny skits, Red comes back out and talks about how the event is going, usually not exactly to plan. And then after a few more skits Red comes out for the last time and explains how the event went completely wrong before going off to the lodge meeting.

The Red Green Show: The Complete 2000 Season is present in 4:3 Fullscreen with Stereo Sound.

There are some bios for the characters, if you’ve watched any season you know who the characters are, and this is pretty useless.

The Red Green Show is a show all men can relate to. Not all of them are going to find it funny, but most will. It’s funny for the older guys to look back and laugh about when they tried something similar. And for the younger guys, it’s a heck of a learning tool.
