Undertaker Hurt, Bound For Glory Plans Change

News

The Undertaker has been having a lot of knee problems as of late. During his recent absence he had arthroscopic surgery on one of them, which turned out to be in worse condition than expected and showed the onset of arthritis. Undertaker has a reputation for not complaining about or showing that he is in pain and instead just getting on with the job, so he still worked the physically demanding Hell in the Cell match with Edge at SummerSlam. WWE booked him in tag matches for house shows and short dark matches at TV tapings afterwards but he was still noticeably limping on the recent European tour. He worked a singles match with Big Show in Munich of the last date of the tour as a tryout for No Mercy, which indicates that he is ready for the PPV as otherwise they would likely have made it into a tag.

Mick Foley was originally slated to have a different role at Bound For Glory. The role of ringside enforcer for Kurt Angle vs Jeff Jarrett was at one point to have been given to Steve McMichael, since he is a local celebrity in the Chicago area.
