REVIEW: Ultimate X-Men/ Fantastic Four Annual #1

Reviews

Pencils: Dan Panosian & Mark Brooks

The X-Men of the future hunt the Fantastic Four of today! In the future, mutantkind is on the run, and what remains of the X-Men make a move, not unknown to the regular MU X-Men. They go back in time and try to stop the cause responsible for their present. The cause is Reed Richards. After the attack of the future X-Men, the current FF seeks out the help of the current X-Men.

Then the story continues at Ultimate Fantastic Four Ultimate X-Men Annual #1. Is it me or why couldn’t just name them Ultimate X-Men Annual and Ultimate Fantastic Four Annual, or vice-versa? Whatever.

The story’s pretty good. Surely, much better than the current story at the Ultimate X-Men. Each future X-Man has a neat little twist that binds them to current continuity. And that makes the story more interesting, such as with Kitty or Rogue. I like the future Ultimate Kitty. She is sexy. And there also some revelations about the future Wolverine and Captain America that I believe you will find them interesting.

Dan Panosian and Mark Brooks are the two pencilers on this book. They are both good, solid artists. Though, their styles are somewhat different, I don’t mind that they are both pencil this annual. Probably to separate the future from the present pages.

It’s an interesting and good enough issue, with good clues and hints. A nice start to this two-part story.
