Fantasy Football Pitfalls – Week 7

Top Story

I’m going to look at the matchups each week and pick five fantasy starters that could be in for a tough week.  Here’s a look at players who could struggle this week.

Quarterback
Philip Rivers
– I do not like the matchup this week for Rivers.  West Coast teams travelling to the East Coast tend to struggle a bit (same for East Coast going to West Coast).  Plus he’s facing a tough Buffalo team that will be fresh coming off their bye.  I’m not expecting big things from Rivers this week.

Running Backs
Ronnie Brown
–  What ever happened to Ricky Williams?  Wasn’t he supposed to be the guy this year?  Anyway, back to Ronnie.  I like what he’s done the past couple of weeks, but I do not trust him vs. Baltimore, especially after the pounding they took from Indy.  They are going to be fired up.

Larry Johnson – LJ was dreadful before the bye week vs. Carolina.  2 yards on 7 carries dreadful.  He’ll surpass that output, but don’t expect an explosive game as he’s going up agaisnt Tennessee’s tough Run D.  Counting the bye it will be three straight weeks of mediocre performances.  Not what you were expecting from your #1 back I bet.

Wide Receiver
Lee Evans
– Lee Evans will draw Antonio Cromartie this week as Buffalo faces San Diego.  That doesn’t bode well for Evans or his fantasy owners.  Plus, the Bills will likely turn to the ground game to keep LT on the sidelines.  I’d try to look elsewhere if possible.

Braylon Edwards – I’m not in love with Braylon’s matchup this week as Cincinnati is travelling to Washington.  This season just has not gone the way Cleveland fans and fantasy owner of Cleveland players expected.
