More on Cade’s Release

News

Lance Cade was released from WWE this week without an expressed cause, including no mention of whether or not he had violated the Wellness Policy. Recently Jim Ross confirmed on his blog that Cade had a seizure aboard an airplane and had to be escorted off, and that this was connected to his dismissal. Cade was rushed to the hospital and examined for possible causes like a possible brain tumor.

Having a seizure is a medical dilemma, not a wrongdoing. Ross called whatever Cade did a “major league mistake while utilizing bad judgment that cost him his job,” and that this included Cade having a seizure.

Seizures can be caused by severe alcohol withdrawal or the use of some illegal drugs like cocaine. Pulse Wrestling is not suggesting Cade abused substances, but it’s the only possible inference from the very little that WWE has disclosed. There may be much more information they are withholding. We do know that whatever Cade did was severe enough for Ross to judge, “Under the circumstances of the situation, I don’t know what other decision the WWE could have made. I’m just relieved that it wasn’t me in my former role that would have had to address this matter.”
