Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

Off the top, we are going to get RAW!  Who’s with me tonight?  We’re kicking things off with a Divas Tag Team match!  I guess tonight is my lucky night.

Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle v. Jillian Hall & Katie Lea

Before we begin, Jillian Hall wants to butcher some country music.  K2 takes and she hits a dropkick to the back, ending this.  Jillian is pissed and she kicks K2 on her ass.  K2 is back with a clothesline for two.  Tag to Candice and they hit a double elbow drop.  Jillian is almost finished, but she kicks out at two.  Jillian misses a corner charge and Candice snaps her neck off the top rope.  Katie stops the submission move at the ropes and this allows Katie to legally enter the match and Candice is in trouble.  Candice fights back, but Katie Lea hits a modified backbreaker for two.  Jillian off the handspring elbow for a two count.  She sends Candice to her corner, taking out Katie Lea.  In comes K2 and she hits a hurrancurana on Jillian.  Jillian  gets kicked in the corner and K2 hits the crossbody for two.  Katie gets involved, but K2 hits the Fameasser for three!

Winners: Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle
Grade: C+

We take a trip to last week, highlighting the Pick Your Poison match between Batista and Jericho.  We will hear from our World Champion NEXT!

Commercials.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your World Champion…CHRIS JERICHO!  He hits the ring…then leaves the ring to harass Lillian Garcia a bit because she forgot to announce his entrance.  Back inside the ring, Jericho is not in a good mood.  He declares Lillian’s inability to introduce him as a lack of respect.  It doesn’t end with Lillian, but to everyone in the locker room to the hypocrites in the arena tonight.  We think Jericho is going to lose at Cyber Sunday and he adds Mike Adamle to the list of disrespectful people.  He runs down the three potiental referees for his match that we can choose from.  He reminds us of what happened in the distant past, and in the most recent past.  When he beats Batista, we will have no choice but to accept Jericho as the best in the industry today.

Here comes the Animal!  Batista mocks Jericho’s hair and he says that respect isn’t to be demanded, but to be earned. If he beats Batista at Cyber Sunday (laughs), then he will earn the respect.  Until then, shut your mouth or he’s going to shut it for him.

Enter Mike Adamle!  He wants them to save it until Sunday.  He wants to talk respect.  For the first time ever, both Batista and Chris Jericho will face three opponents in a GAUNTLET MATCH!  Chalk it up to Adamle being ORIGINAL!  Batista and Jericho stare each other down and Jericho bitch slaps Batista before high-tailing it out of the ring.

Later tonight, CM Punk & Kofi Kingston takes on Miz & Morrison!

Commercials.

Last week: Haas Hogan makes his debut…and loses.

Well, you knew Stan Hansen had to be coming out.  Who am I kidding? Before our match, JBL decides to degrade civilization as we know it.  JBL proves that he is the best on the mic today.  We get more blah blah blah from JBL, saying that the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer.

Cue the Glass Shatters and it’s Stone Cold Steve Haastin!  Almost predictable.

John Bradshaw Layfield v. Stone Cold Steve Haastin

Haastin gets his own chants and he has the microphone.  JBL bitches a bit, prompting the “What?” chants.  We go through the Austin tirade and JBL says that neither of them could lace his boots!

The match is underway and Haastin nails a Lou Thez Press, followed by the elbow.  Rights to JBL and he stomps a mudhole on JBL in the corner.  JBL gets a elbow, but Haastin attempts the Stunner, only to get kicked to the jaw and the Bailout never missed the mark.

Winner: JBL
Grade:D

It’s noted that JBL won 2 matches to Haas 1 in this series.  “And that’s the bottom line because JBL said so!”

Rey Mysterio is in action…NEXT!

Commercials.

A Mike Knox vignette airs for some reason.  Is he coming to RAW?

Out comes Rey Mysterio in his warmup match for Kane next Sunday!

Rey Mysterio v. Snitsky

Yup, this is a good warmup match.  Snitsky pummels Mysterio in the corner.  Mysterio looks for a hurrancurana, but gets a rib breaker for his troubles.  Snitsky drops a couple elbows for two and he rams Mysterio to the corner.  He stomps Mysterio in the corner.  We go corner to corner to corner and Snitsky gets hung up over the top rope.  Seated senton connects and Mysterio goes back on top…DOUBLE FOOT STOMP!  Snitsky is set up and the 619 connects.  Splash connects and Rey wins!

Winner: Rey Mysterio
Grade: D

Upcoming tonight: THE GAUNTLET MATCH!

Up Next: Punk/Kingston v. Miz/Morrison!

Commercials.

We are back and it’s time to hype Cena’s GRAND RETURN!

And after that, maybe we can actually see some wrestling?  I mean, is that so hard to ask?  Apparently, Miz & Morrison doesn’t care.  They want us to vote for them because they are the greatest tag team in history.  Where’s Team 3-D.  They are beyond DX…and they mock them.

IT’S CLOBBERIN’ TIME!  That team is JAMAICAN ME CRAZY!

The Miz & John Morrison v. CM Punk & Kofi Kingston

Punk and Morrison begin things off.  Punk with a waistlock, taking down Morrison.  Morrison breaks it off and in comes Miz, who kicks Punk in the midsection.  Punk ducks the clothesline and hits an enzugiri!  In comes Kofi and they double team Miz for two.  Kofi gets sent to the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits a textbook dropkick!  Miz rolls out of the ring and the referee prevents the predictable plancha.  Tag to Punk and he kicks the side of Miz’s head.  Kicks to the midsection, the MMA expert proclaims Michael Cole.  Punk could make Kimbo his bitch.  Tag back to Kofi and the double suplex connects.  Morrison comes in and he’s cradled a bit before getting tossed outside onto Miz.  Miz crawls back inside and Kofi gets a quick two count.  Tag to Punk and Miz gets kicked, jaw-jacked, and nailed with a forearm for two.  Miz clubs the back, trying to gain momentum.  Punk sends Miz to his corner and Kofi tags in and gets a two count.  Kofi and Miz slug it out in the center of the ring.  Kofi misses the splash and Morrison knocks Kofi off.  Tag to Morrison and he beats into Kofi a bit.  Kofi tries to fight off in the heel corner, but Morrison hits a suplex with a jacknife cover for two!  Morrison locks the head and we go to break.

Commercials.

We’re back and we’re working the tag formula as Miz and Morrison continued to beat up Kofi.  Morrison tags in Miz and he beats up Kofi before locking in a rear naked choke.  Mizgets elevated in the corner and Kofi gets catapulted in the heel corner.  In comes Morrison and he gets a two count.  Morrison locks on some kind of submission hold.  Kofi battles back and TAGS IN PUNK!  Neckbreakert to Morrison and he uses the slaps and kicks to take Morrison down.  The High Knee/Bulldog combo connects and Punk goes up top.  Punk slips off the turnbuckle, but he keeps his footing enough to hit a powerslam for two!  Miz takes out Kofi.  Punk hits the GTS on Morrison, but Miz cleverly tagged in before that.  Miz rolls up Punk and gets the win.

Winners: The Miz & John Morrison
Grade: B+

Backstage, Chris Jericho is still bitching to Mike Adamle, still demanding respect.  Adamle booked the Gauntlet match to help Jericho get that respect he needs.  Mike Adamle is smart!

Commercials.

Welcome back to those checking the report out from Facebook, MySpace, Google, or anywhere else you may be coming from.  This is the best live coverage on the internet today.

San-ky Roddy Dustarella makes his/her way out to the ring as a crossdresser extrordinare.  His three opponents are washed up.  Hot Rod no longer has a Hot Bod.  Goldust dresses like a woman and has flamed out.  HA!  Lastly, Honky Tonk Man has some obsession with pork and the King not named Lawler.

Speaking of washed up people, out comes Hacksaw Jim Duggan.  I’m calling it now, Beth takes him down.  Santino says that Duggan needs to be hosed down.  Santino is on his last minute of his 15 minutes of fame.  Santino is very confused.  Santino is the flashiest in a pan.  He doesn’t appreciate him disrespecting HIS generation.  Santino brings up the Honk-A-Meter.  Hacksaw was never the Intercontinental Champion.  Hacksaw says that if it wasn’t for his boyfriend, he wouldn’t be champion.  This makes Beth pissed off.  Santino strips down and makes Beth hold them. Santino says for her to hand it to him and EL KABONG!  Somehow, Santino’s mouth gets bloodied!  Fun segment.

We’re back and we go over the Cyber Sunday card.

Up next is the Gauntlet Match!

Commercials.

We’re back!

So, I’m confused.  Both Jericho and Batista are in the ring.  How is this gauntlet match going to work?  Mike Adamle is in the ring as well, so this may shed some light.  Batista will begin the match first and we get to know our opponents.

Batista v. William Regal

The bell sounds and Regal beats into Batista.  Batista sends Regal to the ropes and hits the spinebuster.  Batista Bomb finishes this.

Winner: Batista

Chris Jericho v. William Regal

Regal fights to get up.  Once Regal gets up and the bell rings.  Codebreaker and Jericho gets the win.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho gets to start the next match and the next opponent…MARK HENRY!

Chris Jericho v. Mark Henry

Jericho attacks off the bell, but is swatted away.  Henry misses a corner charge and Jericho clips the leg.  The Walls does not work as Henry sends Jericho out of the ring.  Back inside, Henry beats up Jericho  Corner to corner we go as Henry continues to put pressure on the champion.  SPLASH to the corner and Henry looks for the big splash.  He misses and Jericho hits the Lionsault for TWO!  Jericho undoes the turnbuckle padding and Chidoa looks to fix it.  Jericho gets the title, but the referee turns around quickly and Jericho gets DQ’ed.

Winner via DQ: Mark Henry

Batista v. Mark Henry

Henry struggles to get up and Batista beats up Henry.  Henry swats him away…SPINEBUSTER by Batista and that’s that.

Winner: Batista

The final opponent is announced…Kane!  This will happen after the break.

Commercials.

Chris Jericho v. Kane

We’re JIP and Kane hits a sidewalk slam for two on Jericho.  Kane introduces Jericho to the repadded turnbuckle.  Kane continues to beat on him in the corner.  Jericho is able to focus on the leg a bit, getting Kane in the corner.  Jericho nails the leg against the steel.  Kane hits a hard right hand to stop that offense.  Jericho continues to attack the leg and the Walls fails for Jericho again.  Jericho walks into a right hand…and another.  Corner to corner we go and Kane hits another sidewalk slam!  He drops the elbow on the canvas.  The Codebreaker is blocked and Kane goes up top!  Jericho hangs Kane up to dry and he climbs the turnbuckle as well.  He looks for a superplex, but Kane knocks him off.  Flying clothesline connects and Kane barely gets the nearfall.  Kane sets up for the Chokeslam, bit Jericho counters.  Kane knocks Jericho out of the ring.  Jericho is prevented by Batista.  Jericho gets pulled back inside the ring.  Big boot by Kane connects and that’s all.

The Final Grade for WWE RAW 10.20.2008: C

I was tempted to go lower on the final grade, but I enjoyed Punk/Kingston v. Miz/Morrison and the Gauntlet Match was interesting to say the least.  The show was geared to sell Cyber Sunday, so it could had been worse.

Before you go, check out the Celebrity Championship Wrestling report and I’ll be back throughout the week.  Take it easy!
