Fantasy Football Pitfalls – Week 8

I’m going to look at the matchups each week and pick five fantasy starters that could be in for a tough week.  Here’s a look at players who could struggle this week.

Quarterback
Eli Manning
– Eli gets to travel into Pittsburgh to face one of the league’s toughest pass Defenses.  We’re getting into late October so weather could start to play a little bit of a factor.  I see this being a pretty hard-fought low scoring defensive struggle.  I don’t like my fantasy QB in that type of game.

Running Backs
Michael Turner
– I’m going after Mr. Turner again.  He is great against the bad teams and average against the good one.  This week he heads to Philly to face the Eagles coming off their bye.  They have allowed just 3 rushing TDs and 91.5 ypg.

Dominic Rhodes – One week after endorsing Rhodes to get off against Green Bay I’m telling you to put on the brakes as he faces a tough Tennessee D.  Peyton is heading back to Tennessee and I believe the Colts will have to rely on his strong arm to win this one.

Wide Receiver
Plaxico Burress
– I picked the QB, why not go with his favorite target as well.  Not only will he be facing a tough Pittsburgh Defense, he’s sure to draw the ire of Pittsburgh, a place he formerly called home.  Plax typically is a monster game or a dud with little in between.  This week I’m banking on the latter.

Roddy White – Let’s see Matt Ryan will be facing the Eagles in Philly?  A rookie facing a Jim Johnson Defense for the first time.  You think they’ll bring the heat?  Ryan could end up on his back more times than not making it difficult for Roddy to put up the numbers his fantasy owners have grown accustomed to.
