LestersLegends.com presents Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 8.
There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
QB
Tyler Thigpen – Tyler completed 25 of 36 passes (69.4%) for 280 yards and a pair of TDs. He did not throw an Interception and displayed some poise. He has two solid threats in Dwayne Bowe and Tony Gonzalez. I wouldn’t suggest playing him, but I’d rather have him on my roster than a Brad Johnson. That still doesn’t make him roster worthy.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em (unless you have Brad Johnson).
RBs
Antonio Pittman – With Steven Jackson out, Pittman stepped in nicely. He ran for 83 yards on 19 carries while adding another 22 yards on 3 catches. I would guess that S-Jax will be good to go the next time out so leave Pittman on the waiver wire.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
Leonard Weaver – Weaver exploded for 13 rushing yards, 116 receiving yards and 2 TDs. Catches your attention, doesn’t it? Chalk it up to a fluke though as he had just 54 rushing yards and 6 catches for 43 yards. Do I see him coming close to his Week 8 performance? Not a chance.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
WRs
Donnie Avery – If you were Ahead of the Curve like Lisa Danhof you would already have him. He’s been doing well with 73 yards and 55 yards and a score the past two weeks. This week he exploded for 163 yards vs. the Patriots. He must be owned.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Mark Bradley – Bradley caught five passes for 42 yards and a score for the Chiefs. He had one catch for 8 yards prior to this game. Naturally I want to see him do it again before I contemplate using a roster spot on him. Kansas City looked OK, but they are still a bad team.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
TE
Billy Miller – Miller had a solid game with 7 grabs for 82 yards. The Saints have three good TD options in Shockey, Miller, and Campbell. Plus, they have a ton of WR threats. The Saints have so many weapons it’s hard to predict who will shine from week to week. That said, Miller is probably worth a roster spot.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
There you have it. I hope I provided you some good info while you make your fantasy team waiver wire adjustments.
