John Travolta tells Australia’s The Sunday Herald Sun that he won’t be back for the recently announced Hairspray sequel.
According to Travolta, a self-confessed sequel loather (apparently he’s not even 100% on board Wild Hogs 2 yet, despite Disney trumpeting it, and his character’s return, at their recent all-star showcase), he doesn’t like repeating himself.
“I think once is enough”, Travolta said of playing his cross-dressing, fat-suited role of Edna Turnblad. “I did it and I did it well but I’m not a big sequel guy”.
Interestingly enough, John Waters’ treatment for Hairspray 2 is set to again fix on the Turnblad family.
