Total Nonstop Weekly

Columns, Top Story

Welcome back Pulse Wrestling fans!  I may be a WWE guy, but I do have a guilty passion for enjoying TNA most of the time.  It’s that guilty passion, and my last TNA column that I wrote a month ago that inspired me to add some more TNA content to the site.  Besides, TNA has already alienated our all-star team of writers ranging from Brad Curran to Pulse Glazer.  This leaves either me or my dedicated tag team partner, Norine.  I risen to the occasion and each and every week, I will bring you the latest in TNA news, rumors, videos, and anything else I can come up with.  So sit down with your favorite beverage and read this column.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Sting was recently interviewed by the UK Sun about his current role in TNA, among other things.  Sting feels that he has not been received well by the younger talent.  He understands that because he was in those shoes when Hulk Hogan, the Four Horsemen, and all the others that went from WWF to ECW.  He talks about being close to signing with Vince and the WWE a few times, and that to him it wasn’t about the paycheck.  It was about making a difference, as to why he went to TNA.  I won’t spoil much more of this interview, so feel free to check it out because it is a fascinating read.

Mick Foley Interview

Mick Foley was interviewed by Mike Mooneyham of The Post and Courier in Charleston and he talked about how he didn’t like Vince McMahon treating him like he did the other announcers during his brief stint as a color commentator for SmackDown. Again, I won’t spoil the entire interview, so check it out and while you’re at it, check out this interview where Mick Foley is happy with his move to TNA.

Ratings News

Last week’s TNA iMPACT live from Las Vegas received a 1.13 rating, which is normal for what TNA normally does.  There were 1.6 million viewers, which was the biggest number since this past summer.  The highest rated segment was the main event segment featuring Mick Foley and that received a 1.31 rating.  This rating is the highest ever rating for a segment in TNA history and could be where the 1.6 million viewers came into play.  TNA was playing against the World Series and College Football, but they maintained their ratings, which leaves me to believe that the rating would have been much higher if it wasn’t for those two events.  This is one area TNA is doing better than the WWE in, because WWE RAW has always lost viewers during football season.  TNA has kept their viewers.  For those that believe in the WWE machine, you’d know that WWE was in the same boat as TNA when RAW debuted fifteen years ago.  It took RAW a few years to really show an impact in ratings, so expect the same for TNA iMPACT.

This week, one can expect a slight increase in ratings as the buzz surrounding Mick Foley’s new position within TNA Management will entice some curious viewers into tuning in.  Also with the big storyline involving the TNA Young Guns and the Main Event Mafia, that may be worth watching.

Samoa Joe v. the Blade

Big OOPS
Caught in the Act

I didn’t pay attention at first, but when others pointed it out, I watched it on my own and I noticed it.  HD will be interesting, especially if the production team makes the small things like that very obvious.  This is a pretty funny clip.

Pulsating Action

Pulse Glazer gets through last week’s live iMPACT with some thoughts.
Mark Allen discusses Vince’s “Entertainment Touring Group” in his weekly WWE news column.
Vinny talks about the heels, with a bit of soul added to it as we go back to Alternate Reality.
John Wiswell discusses what’s on tap for ROH without Gabe Sapolsky.
And not to be outdone, Pulse Glazer and yours truly break down the results of Cyber Sunday and he gets RAW as well.
