Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 9

LestersLegends.com presents Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 9.

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday.  There always are.  Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

QB
Rex Grossman
– Rex helped the Bears hold off the Lions after Kyle Orton hurt his ankle.  He didn’t look great in the process through throwing for 58 yards with a TD and an INT.  He completed just 9 of 19 passes.  Not only would I not grab Grossman, but I’d lower my expectations for Greg Olsen as long as Rex is at the helm.  I’d rather use the roster spot on Daune Culpepper, and I’m not convinced Culpepper will be a decent fantasy player again.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

RBs
Jamaal Charles
– The rookie looked good this week goign for 106 yards on 18 carries.  He’s averaging 5.7 yards per carry.  Larry Johnson may not carry the ball again for the Chiefs.  Charles is worth a look.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

J.J. Arrington – Arrington hadn’t done much prior to this week’s game, but he combined for 119 yards.  Edge is an afterthought, but this is a pass-first team.  Hightower was roster worthy as the backup because he got the work in the red zone.  Since Arrington won’t get that, he’s not worth having.  Even if Hightower got hurt, I would guess Edge would get the starting gig back.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

WRs
Shaun McDonald
– It appears that Dan Orlovsky has a fondness for McDonald.  He’s had 11 catches for 133 yards and a TD the past two weeks.  Those strong games came against decent Defenses in Washington and Chicago.  He’s back to being roster worthy.  Of course having Roy Williams in Detroit helps.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Derek Stanley – I love that he took his first NFL reception to the house for an 80 yard score.  That’s a great way to start his career.  Unfortunately that’s all he did.  Torry Holt showed some life with six catches for 58 yards and a score so don’t expect Stanley to take his looks.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

TE
Derek Fine
– Fine caught his first four passes for 43 yards.  He also scored his first TD.  I’ll keep a closer eye on the Rookie, but that’s about it.  Robert Royal had 5 catches for 70 yards, so it’s not like Fine is pushing for his job.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

There you have it.  I hope I provided you some good info while you make your fantasy team waiver wire adjustments.
