Gossip Girl – Episode 2-9 Review

Top Story

I think Nate Archibold wins out as the first male to hook up with every female character on the show within a season and a half. After being with Blair since kindergarten, he sure moved on quickly. Love em and leave em, huh Nate?

I knew it was coming. I saw the filming photos and I’ve read the books. I knew the Jenny and Nate thing was inevitable. And I was actually looking forward to it…three seasons from now. I don’t know about anyone else, but I think he is blowing through all these relationships way to early in the show’s run. Also, I found the kissing quite cringe-worthy for some reason.

Jenny and her new model friend Agyness start planning a fashion show to crash a charity event honoring Lily and Bart. After scheming around her brother and dad, she pulls it off and gets the attention she wanted. She also got a little more than she expected when Nate kisses her. Too bad that is ruined when Vanessa sees them. I actually sympathized with Vanessa (even despite my dislike for her holier-than-thou vibe) when her face fell from seeing the kiss. Can’t wait to see where this goes though.

As for Dan, he’s been as annoying as ever as he continues to write a story on Chuck and finds out he probably won’t be attending Yale. He also kicks out Nate when he finds out about the kiss with Jenny.

Speaking of Yale, Blair is desperate. So much so that she’s willing to take an important Yale connection’s daughter out. Blair was thinking the movies while the girl Emma had her de-flowering in mind. After chasing Emma all around Manhattan with the help of Serena and Chuck and bonding over their neglectful childhoods, Emma tells the dean of Yale how much she adores Blair. And while I’m not the biggest fan of Blair, I actually thought she acted humane this episode and it was nice to see.

Serena meanwhile is chasing after an artist named Aaron who has zero chemistry with her. I hope this storyline ends soon. I was bored with the camp reminiscing and licorice jewelry. Please end now.

Tune in next week when Chuck threatens Dan about his article on Bass Industries and we get to see what happens to little Jenny Humphrey who’s living on her own. And hey, I want to find out what was in that letter Nate wrote to Jenny!
