Pulse Wrestling’s Real-Time WWE RAW Report 11.10.2008

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

We’ve elected a new President, Mike Adamle left us, Shane & Stephanie take control, Chris Jericho wins the World Title back, Santino Marella faces William Regal in England, and a TNA PPV happened last night.

You didn’t miss much in the last week.

So, welcome back to reality and let’s get RAW, shall we?

NOT LIVE from Manchester, England

Recap of last week’s Steel Cage Main Event is aired.

Batista is here and he is mad.  Be very afraid!  He isn’t well-liked in the UK, but that does not matter.  He wants to invoke his rematch clause.  Stephanie is on via satellite and she denies his rematch request.  Shane made it clear that whoever won last week would face Cena for the title at Survivor Series.  Batista will receive a rematch after Survivor Series.  Last week, Mike Adamle resigned and soon will begin a clean slate.

So tonight, Kane faces Rey Mysterio in a No-DQ Match and Chris Jericho faces Shawn Michaels in a Last Man Standing Match.  She thanks Dave for being so understanding.

I HEAR VOICES IN MY HEAD!

Randy Orton tells Batista that he’s going to have to wait in line.  John Cena (BOOS) gets his shot, then Randy will get his because he is better than Dave.  He reminds us of the days in Evolution and he says that he will be next in line, not Batista.  The fans chant RKO repeatedly.  Batista reminds Randy that history is written by winners and that he has been better than him in the past and in the present.  Since tonight has a theme, Batista has a score to settle tonight with Orton!  Orton accepts.  They stare down and Batista takes initative, but Orton bails.

Last week: William Regal beats everyone to earn an Intercontinental Championship shot!

And that is tonight’s opening match!  Santino makes his way out with Beth.  He makes it to the ring and he is SO CONFIDENT that he’ll retain tonight.  He’s done away with the HONK-A-METER.  He unveils the HONK-A-PERFECT-MOUNTIE-METER!.  The three legends held the title a combined 123 weeks.  Santino held the title for 13 weeks.  That means in 2 years and 4 months, he’ll break the record.  He then talks about Regal.

Out comes William Regal with his associate, Layla London.

Santino Marella v. William Regal
WWE Intercontinental Championship

We get the super-special ring announcing for this match!  The bell sounds and they lock up in the corner.  Regal goes corner to corner and hits a suplex!  Running knee lift and that’s it?!

Winner: William Regal
Grade: D (including the pre-match HONK-A-PERFECT-MOUNTIE-METER!)

Michael Cole is in the ring to interview William Regal.  Regal is smiling for the first time in ages!  He will be proud to wear the title with the pride and dignity of England.  He will also take the spirit of everyone in the UK around the world with him.

We are back and Kane welcomes Shane and Stephanie back to RAW.  There’s something in Shane that brings out his inner child.  Tonight, he’ll do anything he wants to do with Rey.

Oh hey, a D-Lo-Brown sighting!

D-Lo-Brown v. Mike Knox

The bell sounds and we learn that Knox moved to the RAW roster.  He takes it to Brown and we get a “Same Old Sh*t” chant from the crowd.  Corner to corner we go and Knox hits a bicycle kick!  The KnoxOut connects for the win!

Winner: Mike Knox
Grade: F (2 in a row…I won’t be so nice.)

We hype Wrestlemania 25!  The economy may be bad, but people will still shell out $700+ for tickets.

Beth Phoenix is consoling a sad Santino.  What happened tonight was a travesty.  He finished calling Shane McMahon and he chewed him out.  So as punishment, we get Beth Phoenix v. Mickie James for the Women’s Title tonight!  Beth takes the phone and breaks it against the wall!

WWE REWIND:  Chris Jericho wins the title back last week!

We’re back and we are reminded of Cena/Jericho at Survivor Series!

We go back to June 6th, 2005 where John Cena was drafted to RAW!  We get another Cena video with this.  To sum this up, he’s coming back.  He’s coming back to take your soul!

Chris Jericho comes out and he reminds us of his story with Batista.  Batista put Cena out and Jericho beat Batista to win his 5th World Championship?  Can someone please verify that cause I am only counting three?  He talks about Shawn a bit and how he’s destroyed him time after time.  He tells Cena to pay close attention because Jericho will beat him.  He leaves us with a thought that not all stories have a happy ending.

Winner: Rey Mysterio
Grade: B-

Rey favors the arm as he walks back up the ramp.  Backstage, Randy Orton tapes his wrists while Manu and Cody Rhodes enter the room.  Ted DiBiase has a concussion.  Orton says that DiBiase was the weak link…that he lost the tag titles for the group and that he dumped the two of them.  Then he had the balls to interfere.  Orton says that the two of them are not in his league.  BITCH SLAP by Cody connects and Manu steps in between the two.

Winner: Beth Phoenix

Santino celebrates as if he won the match for Beth.

Thanks to Alex Lucard for clarifying the five World titles Jericho had.  I forgot about the WCW Title he won from the Rock during the Invasion era.  I also thought the unification of the titles only counted as one reign, but it all makes sense!

Next Monday on RAW: CM Punk takes on Randy Orton again!  Shame I won’t be around next Monday.

We’re back and Shawn fakes Sweet Chin Music and he beats Jericho down to the mat for a two count.  Michaels oversells the corner spot, but explodes into a clothesline for a four count.  Shawn kips up following a forearm.  Scoop Slam connects and he goes up top.  Michaels hits the elbow directly on Jericho’s knees!  Shawn’s up at five.  Jericho connects with Shawn and he MISSES THE SPRINGBOARD DROPKICK, causing him to land outside the ring!  Jericho is up at five, but Michaels hits a springboard splash off the apron!  Not quite an Asai Moonsault, but impressive enough.  Michaels is back inside the ring, and Jericho is up at six.  Michaels jumps Jericho from behind and he looks for it.  Sweet Chin Music misses, Shawn tweaks the knee and Jericho hits the bulldog on the ramp!  Michaels is up at seven and Jericho knocks him down for another count.  Michaels is up at five and we take a commercial break without warning!?

Two good matches and a new champion tops tonight’s RAW Report Card.  We started out bad, but finished decently.  Jericho continues his A main event matches and Rey takes Kane in a good bout.  Average RAW tonight and better than last week!

I’ll have the CCW report up next since I’m a bit behind due to the weekend.  Other than that, I should be around this week at random intervals.  Norine will take RAW next Monday.  Have a great week!
