TV Star Veteran, Dylan McDermott, Cast in Leading Role on New TNT Show!

News

TNT’s drama pilot The Line has found its lead actor in Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner Dylan McDermott.

The former star of The Practice will star in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced show as the leader of an undercover unit in the Los Angeles Police Department, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His casting follows the addition of three other actors — Nicki Aycox, Omari Hardwick and Logan Marshall-Green — to the show earlier this week.

McDermott’s character is a lieutenant who created the undercover unit and works to maintain a professional relationship with his officers despite his personal feelings toward them. His cops, in turn, are trying to stay clean in the face of the numerous temptations their undercover work throws at them.

McDermott earned an Emmy nomination in 1999 for his work on The Practice. He won a Golden Globe for the role the same year and was nominated two other times.

He starred in ABC’s Big Shots last season and is currently working on the feature film Burning Palms. His credits also include TNT’s miniseries The Grid, Wonderland and In the Line of Fire.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
