Make Movement: The Road Ahead

Columns

There has been a lot of shakeups lately, mostly within WWE as far as talent being let go, as well as storyline shakeups. Chris Jericho loses the belt to Batista then actually wins it back on RAW. It’s nice to see the WWE go back to the ‘anything can happen’ feeling that has been lost. I don’t quite understand why John Cena gets a free pass on his first day back against the WWE Champion – which makes me nervous that it’s going to be a three minute match for the win. So many John Cena promo videos hyping the appearance – this could one day turn fans off to John Cena as a face. We all get that he lives and breathes being a WWE superstar.

I really like what’s happening with Randy Orton, and the ripple affect he’s causing in the likes of Priceless – I think in a few months a world title reign isn’t out of the question. On the other hand, despite Santino’s monster push as a comic heel, he just squashed by Regal in his home country for the IC Meter. So much for the Honk-a-Perfect-Mountie-Meter.

On the ‘why is this happening’ train of thought – Mike Knox looks like a mountain man times 10. Not attractive, super pointless and poor D-Lo Brown. And as happy as I am that the Kane/Rey Mysterio Jr. feud appears to be over, they put on one hell of a TV match.

I’m really fed up with the women’s division in the WWE – it’s sucked for months now. They get a short Women’s championship match on TV, Mickie’s character has been diluted to the point of no recognition (if you don’t count the lame attempts to pair her up with John Cena and Kofi and whoever else). Beth is the only one with the better end of the deal because almost guaranteed TV time each week with Santino.

The Jericho/HBK match on RAW this week was good for what it was, it’s one of those, I hate to see this match take away from the best match of their feud. However, at least this set up the OBVIOUS JBL run-in against HBK.

As far as the cutbacks, most of them make sense but the one I’m most upset about losing is Elijah Burke. What a future in that athlete and WWE squandered it away.
