The Hills – Episode 4-14 Review

This week’s break from the Justin/Audrina drama was a nice one. Even Lo didn’t make the cut.

Whitney and Lauren head to New York for a fashion show and both are excited to see some hot boys. Whitney has been talking to Alex on and off since she met him last time she was on the East Coast. That excitement didn’t last long where Alex is concerned.

During a fitting for the show, the girls chatted up the models awkwardly while dressing them. A model named Adam caught Lauren’s eye and he invited them out to a restaurant and show that night. At the show, Whitney and Alex say hi but it’s quite clear she’s just not feeling it. He continues to creepily stare at her all night while she stares at the lead singer of the band, Jay.

While a jealous and pissed Alex watches, Whitney flirts with Jay and buys him a shot. I kind of felt bad for Alex because she did blow him off. But then again, he was being quite creepy about it. And besides, if you are a model, I’m sure you have other prospects. Or maybe I’m wrong? Move on, dude.

Anyway, Jay reminds me a bit of Justin Bobby with his long hair and laid-back attitude (although he does have the hot Australian accent on his side). Either way, it’s not the type of guy I pictured Whitney with…I thought she liked the more clean-cut ones.

As for the recently fired Heidi and her hopeless boyfriend, they decide to go out instead of stay in and sulk. Spencer seems unsurprisingly uncaring about the whole situation. And after spotting Heidi’s boss at the club, he decides it would be a great idea to go talk to him. I was actually a little shocked he offered an apology. I was totally expecting a “she doesn’t need you” speech.

Nevertheless, Brent wasn’t having it. After he told Spencer he felt uncomfortable talking to someone he doesn’t even know, Heidi goes to talk to him. Are these two completely void of social etiquette? Heidi apologizes and Brent tells her exactly what everyone else in the world has been saying and thinking for the past three years–Spencer is a loser! “You are the company you keep,” he says wisely.

Next thing we know, Brent is actually considering giving Heidi her job back. Come on, seriously? How much are they going to pay you?

Next week will be fun as Heidi confronts her boss’ boss and Holly moves in with Lauren!
