Holyfield Gets Another Title Shot

News

Evander Holyfield began his comeback with the goal of winning a heavyweight title. Holyfield came up short in his WBO Heavyweight bout against Sultan Ibragimov last year, but he now has another chance. Nikolai Valuev will defend his WBA Heavyweight title against Holyfield in Zurich, Switzerland on December 20.

Holyfield turned 46 years old last month and is 42-9-2 in his career. He is 4-4 in his last eight and hasn’t held a title since 2001, when he lost to John Ruiz. Holyfield plans to continue fighting until he wins the heavyweight title.

Nikolai Valuev stands seven feet tall and weighed in at 317 lbs in his last fight, coincidentally against John Ruiz. Valuev won by unanimous decision. Valuev is 49-1 in his career and turned 35 years old in August.
