See Blindness on DVD next February.

Disc Announcements, News

Academy Award-nominated director Fernando Meirelles’s (City Of God) latest film, Blindness is being released on DVD and Blu-ray February 10th. The disc will be priced at $29.99 SRP, however sadly it appears this will be a barebones release with no special features. Which begs the question, just how long will fans of the film have to wait for Special Edition? Also, will they buy it now and double dip later or just hold out? Cover art has not been made available. The film stars Academy Award-nominee Julianne Moore, Gael García Bernal, Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover, Sandra Oh and Alice Braga. It is based on the book by Nobel Prize In Literature Laureate, José Saramago.

When a sudden plague of blindness devastates a city, the local government tries to contain it by locking up the afflicted in an abandoned metal hospital. A small group must band together to triumphantly overcome the horrific conditions of their imposed quarantine. Blindness is a psychological thriller about the fragility of mankind. Adapted from Nobel Laureate José Saramago’s masterwork, the film was written by Tony Award-winner Don McKellar.
