TNA Main Event Mafia News

News

The members of the Main Event Mafia are said to be very much into their current TNA role, feeling they are getting hot crowd responses. Sting not being involved in the recent beatdowns is a deliberate move, playing off of The Godfather by having the head guy watching his henchmen do the dirty work. There is also the idea that if they turn Sting face in the near future they can mention that he never actually participated in the beatdowns.

Sting, Booker T, Jeff Jarrett, Mick Foley and Kevin Nash will not be on the UK tour in January 2009. TNA is running far bigger arenas in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London than they have done in the USA, with significantly lower ticket prices than what WWE charges on their British tours. They haven’t yet decided on what will be taped but chances are they will do another Global Impact special instead of a regular TV taping.

British wrestler Doug Williams is going to be appearing at the UK shows too. Christian Cage has not been advertised for them but even if he had re-signed with the company they would likely keep it quiet and have him make a surprise appearance.

Kevin Nash put together his match with Samoa Joe at Turning Point, using the Alley Fight between Pat Patterson and Sgt Slaughter in 1981 at Madison Square Garden as a template. Also, Jim Cornette was in charge of putting the Beer Money vs Motor City Machine Guns match together.
