One Tree Hill – Episode 6-12 Review

Top Story

This week’s episode was packed with drama and plot development…and in true OTH-style, it left us with some unanswered questions to endure for the next month. Nonetheless, it was probably the best episode all season.

I have to start with my favorite storyline. Nathan is back! He went to play for the scouts and of course the other guys (who were taller) were ripping him apart. They made fun of his shoes and his game. Next shot: Nathan’s shoes as he jumps in the air past the guy’s head. Love it. He really pushed himself and for those of us that have been watching forever, it’s like, FINALLY. He’s been through so much and finally he gets something he deserves. Now we just got to wait for the scouts to call…

Jamie had a piano recital, but wasn’t too enthused about it. He messed up and started cracking jokes to the audience. It was cute, but not the most exciting part. I thought the Nathan/Jamie closet scene was absolutely adorable. I really just can’t get over how much Nathan has changed for the better.

But enough about him, Peyton is pregnant! OK, so that’s not really confirmed, but it’s my opinion anyway. The entire episode was spent making us believe she has cancer, and maybe she does, but I think it’s just a red herring for the pregnancy. Poor Mia, by the way. Peyton was a complete bitch to her tonight. But at least her song was good!

Brooke was great as well this episode. She caught Sam sneaking a boy out, which provided some much-appreciated Brooke humor. But, we find out that the boy (Jack) is actually the person who attacked Brooke! Of course Sam is upset and runs off thinking it is all her fault (which it is). She ends up in a car with Jack and his brother who turns out to be Q’s killer! Wow, I did not see that coming!

Julian was somewhat his annoying self this episode, but provided some comic relief. I didn’t originally like the idea of he and Brooke together, but at the end we find out he tried to help Brooke look for Sam. I couldn’t help but say, “Aw!” I’m excited to see where this goes. Even if Brooke is getting Peyton’s leftovers AGAIN.

As for the other man in Brooke’s life, he was a jerk! Owen didn’t help Brooke look for Sam, but that’s not even the worst part. He decides to have a drink after 8 years of sobriety AND he drinks with virgin Milli. These two are going to hook up, which is awful. Sure, Mouth flirted with Gigi a bit, but he didn’t do anything! This Milli and Owen thing is not going to be pretty…

And finally we get to Lucas. He meets up with this famous director. Yes, it’s none other than Mr. Dawson Leery himself, James Van Der Beek. But don’t get confused, he wasn’t playing Dawson. He was playing an even more obnoxious director who wants to change the script (like kill off someone and have Lucas and Haley marry).

Now as a huge Dawson’s Creek fan, I was definitely excited (even though I was more of a Pacey girl). I mean, James Van Der Beek back in Wilmington on the CW playing a director! His performance was a little over-the-top but hey, he probably wanted to stray as far from Dawson as possible. And for those of you that didn’t watch DC, Chad was on the show for a while so it was nice to see these two working together again.

Overall, this episode blew me away. I wasn’t expecting much, but it definitely delivered. And now we all are going to go crazy the next five Monday nights sans OTH!
