WWE Signs Tyson Tomko

News

Tyson Tomko has been in discussions with WWE about returning and he signed a new deal at last night’s TV tapings. Tomko left WWE on good terms in 2006. He realised that his career was not progressing and wanted to learn more by working overseas before returning later down the line. This led to him becoming a regular with New Japan and later TNA to be reunited with Christian Cage. He did a lot of tag team work, including teaming with and winning titles with A.J. Styles in Florida and Giant Bernard in Japan. His Japanese commitments caused friction with TNA when he missed a pre-PPV fan-fest appearance, which caused TNA management to question his commitment. He also wound up leaving New Japan for Antonio Inoki’s IGF, then turned his attentions back to the States when IGF started scaling down their events. This led to him making a one-shot appearance in TNA, putting over Samoa Joe, but the two sides failed to reach a new deal as he held out for a WWE offer. Christian Cage has also been negotiating with WWE recently, so there may well be another reunion on the cards.
