TUF 8 Finals Set

News

After a full season of displaying bi-polar tendencies, assaulting other fighters and generally making a nuisance of himself, Junie Browning was finally sent packing from the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter. It wasn’t his extracurricular actions that got the best of him, however — it was Efrain Escudero.

Escudero choked out Browning in the second round of the final preliminary fight of the season, and he’ll move on to face phenom Phillipe Nover in the lightweight finals on December 13th. Nover, who has been compared to UFC middleweight champion and reigning pound-for-pound king Anderson Silva, easily dispatched of George Roop with a kimura in the other lightweight semi-final of the evening.

In light heavyweight action, Ryan Bader pulled out the lay and pray in beating Eliot Marshall in a 30-27 unanimous decision. Bader will face jiu-jitsu expert Vinny Magalhaes in the finals. Magalhaes showed why he is so dangerous on the ground, transitioning from a triangle choke into an armbar and forcing Krzysztof Soszynski to tap.
