Make Movement: Stratus Is RAW

Columns

I am not going to lie to you, it’s been very hard to watch “the product” as of late. However, put Trish Stratus on, and everything is good as gravy in my world. For those of you who don’t know, it was Trish’s birthday a few days ago (Happy birthday Trish!) and she’s been keeping crazy busy with her yoga studio and doing work for The Travel Channel. What a great Christmas gift…to see her back in the ring on RAW. Nice hometown pop too, though it wasn’t enough to give Cena a huge face rub.

The face of the night was a tie between Chris Jericho and Trish Stratus. Jericho and Punk put on a great TV match for the fans and Jericho’s chants were especially on fire, though of course the announcers tried to downplay it as something he wouldn’t care about. It’s nice to see Jericho appreciated, it’s clear that Canadian or not, they appreciate good *wrestling.*

My big complaint of the night was Randy Orton getting a “by” after Batista was “unable to compete.” He should have gotten a replacement opponent even though Orton should have won regardless. Instead, Orton gets the heel heat and gets to work on the Legend Killer gimmick some more on taking another guy ‘out while he’s on top.’

I’m glad however, it’s now a ‘Second Generation with no name’ grouping, with Manu, Rhodes and Orton, leaving a mystery to when Ted DiBiase is actually returning and which guy he’s going to take out and come back as a obvious face. I do think Manu needs to go – and go ahead and replace him with Snuka’s son.

Hopefully next week’s RAW will have the talent refreshed and the writers will come back with fresh ideas besides the Specials given to us tonight. I’m optimistic as one can be.
