Chikara’s Framingham Venue to Close
The Civic League in Framingham, Massachusetts was recently purchased by MassBay Community College, turning Chikara’s Massachusetts home into classrooms. Ellen Sturgis, League Director, claimed they simply could not afford to keep it open anymore. The Civic League’s last Chikara event was Cibernetico Begins which saw Jimmy “Equinox” Olsen defeat Lince Dorado to win the 2008 Cibernetico.
Lince Dorado, El Pantera and Incognito to defend King of Trios Titles
Though Incognito may not be popular among Chikara fans, the fact remains that he is one-third of the 2008 King of Trios. Along with Lince Dorado and El Pantera, Los Luchas are set to defend their name as King of Trios against Casandro, Charly Manson Jr. and Gringo Loco. The match will take place on December 11th in Cicerio, Illinois in LLI (Lucha Libre Internacional). Heavily favored to lose, Los Luchas will pull out all the tricks to assure they solidify their position as the King of Trios.
Larry Sweeney </3 Claudio Castagnoli
At Dual and Duality, we saw the rise and fall of Swiss and Sour. At the finish of the Fabulous Two/Swiss and Sour match, Sweeney busted out the brass knuckles and clocked Castagnoli in the face, giving The Fabulous Two the victory. We’re not quite sure why Sweeney double-crossed Claudio, but one thing’s for sure: Sweeney truly is sour.
Young Lions Cup Vacated
Due to the shenanigans Vin Gerard and Jimmy “Equinox” Olsen pulled at Dual and Duality, Leonard F. Chikarason stripped Gerard of the Young Lions Cup. Though the match ended in a tie, Jimmy Olsen was quite satisfied to see Vin Gerard lose the Cup and throw a temper tantrum. No details have been released on the future of the Cup. A few ideas have been thrown around on the Chikara Fans Message Board such as Young Lions Cup opening the 2009 Season or a Best of Series between Vin Gerard and Jimmy Olsen. Either way I’d be happy.

Making his debut in 2007 as “The Right Stuff”, Brodie Lee wore attire very similar to Colin Delaney’s current attire. Losing his debut match against Equinox, he realized he hadn’t made such an impact as “The Right Stuff” and dropped the moniker and the character altogether. He re-debuted as “Big Rig” Brodie Lee. Sporting ripped jeans and a wife-beater, his attire represented who he truly was: a mean, no-good truck-driving jerk. His clothing matched his in-ring atitude. With a take no names, ruthless aggression, boot whoever is in your way style of wrestling, no one was truly able to take him down. Lee demolished Equinox and to make sure he got his point across, whatever it was, he demolished half the Chikara roster including rising-star Tim Donst with his Running Boot and Running Liger Bomb.
Seeing Lee was only picking on the smaller wrestlers in Chikara, Castagnoli challenged Lee to take on someone his own size. For the following months, Lee and Castagnoli would battle throughout Chikara’s territories in a feud that saw Mitch Ryder burn all of Castagnoli’s facial hair off with a fireball. Their final battle would take place in Chikara’s first Cage Match ever, where Castagnoli was claimed victorious after a Diving European Uppercut from the top of the cage.
Brodie Lee has gone back to his old ways, demolishing any small man that crosses his path.
