He and eight other 24 fans are watching every episode of the Kiefer Sutherland show back to back in advance of season premiere of 24 on Global on Sunday night. Up for grabs? Possibly a title in the Guinness World Records. A cash prize of $24,000. And, of course, pride.
Day 3: Hour 48
The last hurrah. On Thursday at 3 p.m., I eliminated myself from Global’s 24/7 Ultimate Fan Marathon at Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall. I have to tell you that when I started this competition, I thought it would be no-contest. I mean, who could compete against the guy that watches nine hours of TV on a regular basis? A 24/7 marathon seemed like a walk in the park. However, the Canwest brainchild was anything but a stroll. My last hour in the competition was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I know that I referred to this earlier, but it honestly seemed like every character was a purple triangle. What went wrong for me? I made the same mistake that so many people do. I thought that watching TV would easy. But watching the same screen for two days straight and being allowed to focus on nothing else is much tougher than it looks. Even when the show is 24.
