WWE Releases Tough Enough Champ

News

According to F4Wonline.com, WWE has released Matt Cappotelli, who won Tough Enough 3 alongside John Hennigan (Morrison). Matt has been out of action for quite some time, after being diagnosed with brain cancer while competing in WWE’s former OVW developmental territory. His MySpace page is here.

Hennigan, who had actually tried out for Tough Enough 2 only to be cut, is currently the only Tough Enough champ still employed by WWE. Other Tough Enough alumni under contract include The Miz (TE4, finalist), announcer Josh Mathews (TE1, finalist), Melina Perez (TE3, cut after making final 25), Boogeyman (TE4, finalist that was cut due to lying about his age and actually being five years over the limit), Shad Gaspard (TE2, cut due to failing a physical) and developmental worker Ryan Reeves (TE4, finalist).

Matthew Michaels is editor emeritus of Pulse Wrestling, and has been since the site launched.
