WWE DotCom Delivery – Week of 01/24/2009

Reviews, Shows, Webshows

It’s so good to be back here, after being drafted for military reserve duty the past few weeks. And while I was away, the DotCom launched a new show, starring Scotty Goldman (Just don’t call Good Times, Great Memories). So let’s jump right into it and start the Delivery.

The word of the week on Word Up is PUFT – having achieved success, fame or fortune, or blowin’ up large. People who personify “puft” are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Barack Obama and Cryme Tyme themselves.

Scotty Goldman presents the second edition of What’s Crackin’. He starts by addressing the second generation superstars of WWE before moving on to talking about some of the greatest catchphrases in wrestling history and introducing the new mascot of the show – Zack Ryder – the woowooweewee guy (Or whichever way you spell it). This of course draws the ire of the greatest tag team of the 21st century, who invented the woowooweewee guy and will not have anyone, especially Goldman, ride their coattails. That’s not a good start for Godman, getting on the bad side of Miz & Morrison.

The latest Santino’s Casa is rather short but kicks butt. Santino talks about Cold Stone Steve Austin being inducted into the Hall of Fame and reveals the Autin is only there because other superstars turned that invitation down, including Aldo Montoya, T.L Hopper and The Shockmaster.

My favourite show is always The Dirt Sheet. After dissecting the generic Royal Rumble promos we her every year, they take their time to address all the second generation wrestlers in the Rumble (But not like Scotty Goldman) and the way they made it to WWE. This leads to a special interview with the colons (The other kind of colons). Be jealous.

And finally, Jack Korpela (Where’s Josh?) runs down the Weekly Top Five on the last week before the Royal Rumble. CM Punk winning the IC title is at number 5 followed by the contract signing from RAW for the World Championship match this Sunday at number 4. ECW’s four-way main event is of course at number 3. The handicapped match from Smackdown between Triple H and Kozlov/Big Show is number 2 and finally, the number 1 spot this week goes to the ending of RAW and the return of Mr McMahon, whose head had a close encounter with Randy Orton’s foot.

So that’s what the DotCom delivered on the last week before the Royal Rumble. I’ll be back later this weekend with the Rumble roundtable.
