John Howard defeated Chris Wilson via split decision

MANNY GAMBURYAN VS. THIAGO TAVARES
Thiago Tavares defeated Manny Gamburyan by unanimous decision

JON FITCH VS. AKIHIRO GONO
Jon Fitch defeated Akihiro Gono via unanimous decision

NATE DIAZ VS. CLAY GUIDA
Round 1
Guida looks CRAZED to start the fight. Guida lands on the feet early and avoids an early takedown attempt. Guida continues to land on the feet until getting caught and goes wobbly for a second. Guida attempts a single leg takedown but is stuffed by Diaz. Diaz pulls guard but Guida gets into half guard and then into full. Diaz stands up with Guida on his back but is able to avoid a submission before the fight getting back to the ground with Guida in side control. From side control Guida lands some nice elbows before getting back up. Guida lands a SICK slam and again is into Diaz’s guard. Guida has mauled Diaz so far with his pace.

Round 2
Diaz comes out with an attempted hip throw which goes unsuccessful before landing a couple nice straights. Diaz has Guida up against the cage but Guida quickly reverses it. Guida is throwing knees which looks relatively useless. Guida goes for two slams but neither is successful. Diaz going for a standing kimura to no success. They quickly go down and then back up against the cage with Guida pushing the pace. Guida has back control, and Diaz drags it to the mat, where miraculously Guida keeps his back control. Diaz again goes for the kimura to no avail. Not a lot of damage done in this round but Guida again controls Diaz
10-9 Guida

Round 3
Diaz comes out quick with strikes, pushing the pace with his reach. Throughout the first minute Diaz continues to throw and land punches. Diaz is getting cocky and throwing his hands in the air and is really starting to pick apart Guida on the feet, hes got him covering up against the fence and is landing. Finally Guida gets a hold of Diaz’s legs against the cage. Guida is pushing hardcore and gets Diaz’s back and gets the fight down where Guida continues to control Diaz without doing any damage. They finish the fight in a scramble in the middle of the cage. Solid fight

Clay Guida defeated Nate Diaz via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

DONG HYUN KIM VS. KARO PARISYAN
Round 1
Parisyan pushes Kim against the cage but gets taken down. Kim gets Paristan’s back standing but his lands are locked up and cannot do much damage. Parisyan does a flip take down but keeps Parisyans back and is landing some decent strikes now. Parisyan stands up and quickly tries to slam again. Parisyan is now on top but falls into a very close triangle before getting out. Parisyan attempts to use his size to control Kim but Kim gets the back again before finally the fight gets back up. Kim lands knees to the legs of Parisyan to end the round.

Round 2
Parisyan lands a few punches before pushing the fight to the cage, but again Kim gets Parisyan’s back. Parisyan goes for a kimura which looked close but to no avail. Parisyan lands a SICK judo throw to the mat and has side control on Kim before the fight again gets back up. Parisyan loses his mouth piece (for the 2nd time) and the referee threatens to take a point if it happens again. Parisyan is landing nice on the feet before getting Kim up against the cage again to finish the round.

Round 3
To no ones surprise the fight again gets right up against the cage and quickly becomes a grappling match. Kim gets a trip takedown but gets kicked on the face and the ref stands the fight up and tells Parisyan that another upkick will cost him a point. Following the standup Parisyan lands nicely on the feet until we again get up against the cage. The last 2 minutes go by with no decisive winner.
I am giving this round 10-9 to Parisyan but it could have gone either way.

Karo Parisyan defeats Dong Hyun Kim via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

STEPHAN BONNAR VS. JON JONES
Round 1
Jones throws 2 spinning back kicks early, quite unorthodox. Jones gets the fight down but Bonnar gets it right back down before again getting slammed down. Bonnar gets a tie-up with Jones against the fence and gets Bonnars back and lands a nice Greco Roman suplex and then BAM a sick spinning back fist/elbow puts Bonnar down hard but Jones cannot take advantage. Jones dances until the round is over.
10-9 domination for Jones.

Round 2
Bonnar quickly takes the middle of the cage but neither can do much damage until Jones drags Bonnar to the mat. On Bonnars way back up, he takes a nice knee to the head. Jones takes down Bonnar again and is controlling him down with ease and into half guard. Again on the way up Bonnar takes a massive knee to the head. Bonnar lands nicely on the feet finally with a nice uppercut. Jones again gets it down with an unexplainable almost belly to belly suplex style takedown. Again Jones controls.
10-9 Jones

Round 3
Bonnar throws nicely to start but gets clinched against the fence. He escapes and rocks Jones with an elbow before getting taken down yet again. By this point its obvious how tired both fighters are. Bonnar gets up and swings to end the round.
10-9 Bonnar because of the pace he pushed.

Jon Jones defeated Stephan Bonnar via unanimous decision (29-28,30-27,29-28)

LYOTO MACHIDA VS. THIAGO SILVA
Round 1
Machida lands kicks and a solid knee early. Time is called because of inadvertent groin strike by Machida. Fight begins again and Machida gets a nice foot sweep to get Silva down but it gets right back up. Silva chases and gets caught with a nice left hand right on the jaw and down goes Silva. Machida jumps into half guard but then stands up and kicks away at Silva’s legs before falling into guard. The fight gets back up and against the cage. and Silva gets tripped down and Machida delivers 2 beautiful punches to Silva, making him go limp.

Lyoto Machida defeated Thiago Silva via TKO at 4:59 of the first round.

UFC WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
GEORGES ST. PIERRE VS. B.J. PENN

Round 1
Immediately we get into a clinch with both landing some knees to the legs. St. Pierre looking relentlessly for a single leg take down but no luck. They separate and get back to the middle of the cage. St. Pierre comes over the top with a nice punch but Penn does not look flustered. Again we get up against the cage and St. Pierre tries a single leg with no luck before again getting to the middle of the cage. St. Pierre is using solid head movement to avoid Penn’s jabs. St. Pierre landing nicely jabs on the feet before again getting Penn up against the cage.
10-9 St. Pierre

Round 2
Penn gets in early with a jab but cannot follow up. St. Pierre clinches again and then lands a solid strike over the top. Finally St. Pierre gets the fight down and in Penn’s guard. Penn is trying to hold a high guard, until he gets caught with a nice elbow from St. Pierre. St. Pierre stands up, lands a nice strike and PASSES PENN’S GUARD! He now has Penn in side control and is landing away both to Penn’s face and his body. St. Pierre falls back into Penn’s guard but is still landing successfully. Again St. Pierre passes the guard but quickly Penn gets him back into guard. St. Pierre swings away until the end of the round.
10-9 St. Pierre, but easily could have been 10-8

Round 3
Penn breathing heavy to start the round. St. Pierre striking well early with jabs and kicks. St. Pierre gets him against the cage and then to the ground. St. Pierre easily passes into half guard but then gets back into Penn’s full guard. Penn continues to throw his legs up but nothing even close. Hammer fists land and finally Penn gets the fight back to the feet and tries to take St. Pierre down to no avail. St. Pierre gets a hold of Penn’s legs and easily gets Penn down now against the fence. St. Pierre landing huge elbows against the cage and now punches and stays in the guard until the end of the round.
10-9 St. Pierre

Round 4
St. Pierre quickly takes the center of the cage and picks Penn apart. He follows this up with a take down into side control and now is battering Penn. Penn is not fighting back at all and is getting mangled badly with these strikes. Penn pushes St. Pierre back into guard and St. Pierre easily passes yet again. Herb Dean is standing overtop getting very close to stopping the fight as the round ends.
10-9 St. Pierre but again could have easily been 10-8 for St. Pierre.
Between rounds Herb Dean stops the fight.

Georges St. Pierre defeated B.J Penn via referee stoppage following the 4th round.
