Leverage Added To TNT Pilot Lineup

TNT will continue to apply Leverage to its lineup of original series.

The cable announced Monday (Feb. 2) that it’s picked up the show for a second season. The new batch of 15 episodes will premiere later this year.

“We had an amazing experience shooting the first season of Leverage with such a talented cast and crew and with the full support of TNT behind us,” executive producer Dean Devlin says. “We can’t wait to get to work on season two and take viewers on another adventure.”

Leverage stars Timothy Hutton as Nate Ford, a former insurance investigator turned modern-day Robin Hood who, along with a team of outside-the-law experts (Gina Bellman, Aldis Hodge, Beth Riesgraf and Christian Kane) helps people fighting wealthy and powerful interests obtain justice.

The show hasn’t been quite as successful as TNT’s top series The Closer and Saving Grace, but it’s still averaging a fairly solid 3.2 million viewers a week (that number rises to 4.1 million with seven-day DVR viewing). The show also leads ad-supported cable in its Tuesday-night time period among viewers and adults 25-54, TNT’s target audience.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
