Big, directed by Penny Marshall (who, with this movie, became the first female director to have a film gross $100 million), tells the story of Josh Baskin, whose wish to be “big” is granted by a fortune-telling machine named Zoltar. Nominated for two Oscars (Best Actor for Tom Hanks, Best Original Screenplay) and ranked the 42nd funniest movie and the 10th best fantasy film by the American Film Institute. Big also stars Elizabeth Perkins as love interest Susan and Robert Loggia as boss MacMillan (“Chopsticks!”). Wish you were big on May 5th. No word on if it will include all the features found of last year’s extended edition DVD release.
