FUZZED: We and TennisTV

Already many network and cable TV shows can be viewed by computer, so there’s more competition – some of it’s even free – for the cable companies, a big yay. The inaugural week for TennisTV.com – not a free subscription, but be glad it’s there. What was once just ATPTV has now been expanded to include the WTA. So did the WTA just fork over some $ to be included? If so, why not? No need to re-invent the wheel. The website has been improved. ATPTV, designed for Explorer, would only work partially in Firefox, but that’s been fixed, yay. However, you still sometimes have to log in twice to view live matches – that’s annoying. If there’s a way around it, I have yet to figure it out. But no better way to spend some hours than following two matches while reading the latest Tennis Magazine. Tennis immersion.
Rotterdam: Nadal, wearing some toned-down colors, has been playing 3 set matches in as many days after losing in doubs early; struggling, but surviving. And I rather like this trend among the guys for clothes that fit better. Death to baggy! Rafa managed to best Tsonga today, but it wasn’t easy. Jo-Willy is a gunslinger. He doesn’t pull his punches and he’ll try for anything from anywhere. And much of the time he makes those dangerous shots. 2nd serve aces, down the liners from way back, outrageous stab volleys, whatever. Not exactly percentages, but no wonder the crowds eat it up. Very nice turnout for the match.
Paris: Mauresmo looking good. The last of the Frenchies left standing after three of them lost today. Amelie blows hot and cold; she can be so different from week to week, even from day to day. Usually she falls apart playing at home, but today she was definitely on and Radwanska was definitely not. Amelie, keep your non-working brain and body in the closet and just use the operational models, ok? Alize Cornet lost today in 3 to Jankovich; the French girls are more known for their guile than power, but Alize has a little more juice and maybe burns a little hotter inside. So why did they perform so poorly in Fed Cup recently? (Amelie was awful; I hate it when she loses to kids and qualifiers and wildcards)
