Non-Douchey TNA News On NJPW Show, Knockouts, Action Figures, Video Game, IWA

News

Lots of TNA news from PWI’s Mike Johnson, with no snark, honest! Includes news on this weekend’s TNA heavy NJPW show, and TNA talent winning belts in another foreign promotion.

Kurt Angle, Beer Money, and Team 3D all won their matches at yesterday’s New Japan Pro Wrestling show, with Beer Money and 3D successfully defending the TNA and IWGP Tag Titles. Angle will challenge IWGP Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi in Tokyo on April 5th.

There may be more signings for the Knockouts Division soon.

In multimedia TNA news, Jakks Pacific will begin working with TNA on their action figure line next month, with the figures set to be released next January. Despite the considerable handicap of bankruptcy, Midway was still working on the second TNA video game until several weeks ago, apparently in an attempt to finish the game in time for it to be counted among its assets.

LAX won the IWA (Puerto Rico) Tag Titles last week, which may be part of an angle involving TNA buying a stake in IWA, as a rumor is going around that they have (Johnson says it may all be an angle in magazines in PR). Samoa Joe also appeared in IWA last week. TNA has a house show in Puerto Rico on March 20th, at any rate.

Finally, Eric Young takes on Cute Kip in this week’s web exclusive TNA match. I believe that I am showing a remarkable amount of restraint in not mocking that and expect that to be acknowledged in the comments with praise and promises of gifts. I will probably be disappointed.
