Survivor: Tocantins…..the one with the name no one could pronounce for a long time. I had high hopes for this season. The past 3 seasons have been some of my favourites ever. China….awesome cast. Micronesia…INSANE game play…..Gabon…..great characters!!!! You can never ask for more than that.
So Tocantins had its second episode tonight. I seriously had a feeling that it would be another season where one tribe absolutely dominates the other. I don’t know what it was about the whole termite segment…but I loved it. We normally only see that kind of thing at the challenge where they eat very unfortunate meals. I really like Jalapao. I think I have picked my favourite tribe. It seemed like they would be the tribe that came out on bottom….but they will surprise us. Maybe I under estimated them because they lost the first challenge. So why do I like this tribe????
Spencer….I have felt from the beginning that he would be my favourite. Being the youngest contestant ever is a VERY cool thing. He grew up with this show…he knows this game like….well like how I like to think I know this game. He still has to make a move that makes me 100% root for him….but I think he has great potential in this game.
The bromance…..this one is awesome! You are taking two guys who could not be any different…and putting them together as a pair! JT and Stephen. This could only end great. You can tell they will have each other’s backs for most of this game. I think both will be around for awhile, and I really look forward to watching what happens with those two.
Sandy…I think this lady is awesome. She is not going to let anyone tell her that she is too old to play this game. Yea she had a bit of a slip at the begining…but she will come back. I think they would be smart to keep her around.< Timbira has a few people that I could root for. Ummm Sierra?? This girl is awesome....for the game....and to look at. I really want her to stay around for a while. I think that since she made it past the first tribal....she will be able to last at least until the merge. I think of her as this seasons Sugar. Under estimated....but a power house in the game. I guess we will see. Coach....wow I can't stand the coach. There is something about him and his whole...wanting to change the game thing. It is not survival of the weakest. The people that have won this game only mastered the essential part. They obviously were able to survive for 39 days....and they managed to outsmart the biggest and toughest people in the game. So I don't want to see him stick around...even though I know he will....and I know other people will like him. So the Reward/Immunity Challenge happens....it's raining....they are waist high is water....this is one awesome challenge! All I could think about was how tough it would be. Complete props to Jalapao for coming out on top on this one. It looked like the curse of the red tribe would move on....but they did what they needed to do. And I was pumped! Brendan gets sent to exile...and takes Taj along with him from the winning tribe. Cool idea...letting him decide what tribe to go back to....but he would have been stupid to do it. Maybe after a tribe swap that will be a little more effective. Just like the mutiny from the Cooks. When all was said and done....I really was hoping that Candace would be the one to leave. Obviously since it was between her and Sierra....and how could anyone want to stop seeing her every week. And I knew it would be Candace to leave. Probst himself said before this season started that he was worried for her. And he obviously knows best. It was unanimous....Candace was the second person voted out of Survivor: Tocantins. And I will not miss her….the only problem I have is talking to her tomorrow. What should I ask??? This is where I am stumped…she did not make an impact on this game at all. Maybe that’s what I need to talk about…how it was inevitable that she would be gone within the first few weeks.
Great to have ya on the show Candace….but leave this game to people who know how to play.
If I had to make a prediction for this game………I would say that I see JT and Stephen making it far….Sierra making it far…..Spencer and Sandy teaming up and making it far…..and Erinn coming along for the ride somewhere in there. Anyone else predict her as the one who randomly jumps out in a few weeks as a true player???
I am so pumped for the rest of this season….I really think Tocantins will fall right in with the past 3 seasons.
I will be talking with Candace on Friday…..I`m sure I will find…..something…yea something to say.
