Multiple Stories on The Wrestler, Including Mick Foley and Necro Butcher

News

Leading up to this Sunday’s Academy Awards, many news agencies have interviews with people connected to The Wrestler.

The Chicago Sun Times interviews retired Army Sgt. Bryan Anderson, a vetern of Iraq, for his role in The Wrestler.  Anderson is the man who gives Randy The Ram his prosthetic leg to beat his opponent with.

Newsday interviews Mick Foley for his opinion on The Wrestler.  Foley went to see the other front-runner in the Best Actor category, Sean Penn in Milk.  Foley says, “Sean Penn was great, but this Mickey Rourke role is a once-in-a-career-thing.”

And finally, the Miami Herald interviews Necro Butcher, the man who had a hardcore match against Randy The Ram.  Butcher, known for some of the hardest matches out there, talks about how hard filming was:

“Mickey Rourke hit me with a prosthetic leg. We did that like 10, 11 times. Falling off the table, six times. You take a beating doing this for a movie.”
