WrestleMania 26 will be held on the 28th March 2010 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. WWE is expected to make an announcement tomorrow in a press conference at the stadium alongside Elaine Scruggs, the Mayor of Glendale. The stadium hosted Superbowl XLII last year and has a maximum capacity of 73,000.
Phoenix has been trying to get the event for some time now. Over a year ago there were photos in a local newspaper of Wayne Gretzky wearing a WrestleMania 2010 shirt. The discussions between Glendale and WWE have apparently been going on for a while now, as during a Raw taping in Philadelphia in October 2007 footage was filmed of some fans outside the arena holding a “WrestleMania is going to Rock the Desert” sign.
Manu, a.k.a. Afa Anoai Jr, was released by WWE today. The decision does not come as a surprise.
