Ask Michelle & Murtz: Survivor Tocantins – Episode 2

Michelle: Another season, another column, isn’t that right, Murtz? Um… Murtz? Oh goodness, please PLEASE tell me you haven’t left me high and dry again. ::pauses:: Hello?

Murtz: Haha, I would never leave you Jaffer-Yi. I was in North Carolina for Episode 2 and was watching it with Jonny Fairplay, Tanya Vance and Steven Cole (formerly of the Amazing Race). I thought this episode was much better than the premiere. Don’t you agree?

Michelle: ::jumps:: You scared me! First because you weren’t here, but now a little bit that you are! Yeah! What an exciting episode! It’s good to be back this season. And it’s good to see that they are finally labeling the models as models—And not as boxers. No need for any more confusion!

Murtz: Haha. Yeah, but the only thing that sucks is that the ‘models’ are all attached. So the fantasy factor is at zero. And while I like this episode a lot, I have to say that I am terribly disappointed about who was eliminated. Candace was virtually the only single hot girl left. Oh wait, maybe I shouldn’t say that to my wife. You’re okay with my Survivor crushes, aren’t you?

Michelle: ::rolls eyes:: I’m not threatened—Though I’m surprised that you aren’t all about the blondes this season. And I’m surprised that them being attached is any kind of deterrent for you! Since when was that an issue?

Murtz:

Michelle: ::laughs:: Well, we’ll just have to see what happens! On to the picks! (Let’s see if we can actually agree on anything this season…)

THIS WEEK’S BEST PLAYER

BRENDAN

Michelle: There’s a lot of potential this season, but I see some real motivation in our entrepreneur, Brendan. Did you know he was a co-founder of Bear Naked? I love that stuff! And he’s a Libra—Just like Aras! Okay, all that aside, he’s playing a great and personable game. People are trusting him, like Sierra with the HII. And he’s giving out trust to get it back, like with Taj and the HII. I’m looking forward to seeing how all this plays out—We all know it’s so easy to get screwed in this game, but this guy seems like he can hack it.

Murtz: It was a great week for Brandon. Although he was sent to Exile Island, he made this work for him. I thought it was a good idea for him to share the clue with Taj. Not doing so, would have made her dislike him and it really cost him nothing to say it. I don’t think Taj will say anything to her tribe, because she already knows that she is in trouble (see below). I also like the way Brandon told his tribe about the hidden immunity idol clue but pinned it all on Taj to ensure that he doesn’t garner any ill will from them. Another reason why Brandon is this week’s best player is because Sierra chose him to confide in (since he was the only one who didn’t vote for her in the first episode) and because of that move, he is the only player in the game who knows that there might be 2 hidden immunity idols. The funny thing is that while Taj is the worst player of the wek because she revealed who her husband is, Brandon has hidden who his wealth and no one seems to know that he is a millionaire. It was like a tale of a good and bad player at Exile this week.

THIS WEEK’S WORST PLAYER

TAJ

Murtz: A terrible week for Taj. There was no reason to reveal who her husband was and there is no question that this gives her tribe a strong reason to vote her off. I am quite confident that she will be the next to go. While she performed well at the challenge, I don’t think this makes up for how bad her social game has been thus far.

Michelle: I couldn’t agree more! Of course, I’m sitting there thinking, “Who’s Eddie George? Maybe that’s like my favorite drink, Eddie James!” On the plus side, with money already in the bank, at least she’s in the game for the thrills. She better hold on tight!
