50 years before the Galactica set off to find the fabled Thirteenth Colony, scientists on Caprica make a breakthrough in artificial intelligence, a breakthrough that will lead to the near extinction of the human race.
Although the prequel series to Battlestar Galactica won’t air until 2010 the pilot will be made available on DVD and for digital download uncut and unrated on April 21st of this year. The pilot (and series) will star Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, Paula Malcomson, and Polly Walker and will center on conflict and intrigue between two families, the Adamas and the Graystones, and the ethical, political, and moral problems which new technologies create.
Sci Fi hopes that this groundbreaking pre-release will create buzz for the show as well as allow fans to give feedback on the show well in advance of its airing.
In addition to the feature the DVD will also have the following bonus features:
