10 Thoughts on TNA iMPACT! – 03.07.09

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

  1. Opening the show with a continuation of the Don West heel turn probably isn’t the best idea.  Tenay comparing doing the show with his former friend to making an emergency landing in the Hudson River is slightly insulting.  I know the Don West heel turn isn’t exactly “money,” but if I had to deal with Tenay I would probably turn heel too.
  2. I really wish the buildup to Ultimate X would have included some kind of feud.
  3. Jay Lethal is imitating Ric Flair this week, then goes back to the Randy Savage thing.  I know he was a little goofy but I wish he would just be Jay Lethal.
  4. I like title being defended more often, but what did Kiyoshi do to earn a title shot?  And who is Team No Limit?  And please can Suicide go away?  Please?
  5. What do they expect to accomplish with the “Governor” character?  And are there any faces in the Knockouts division besides Taylor and Roxxi?
  6. I really don’t care for Samoa Joe using that knife or his “Nation of Violence.”  I liked the initial buildup for Joe’s return but since he’s actually been on TV they’ve blown it.
  7. What’s the reason for Kurt Angle to completely bury Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal?  And how ridiculous is it for Mike Tenay to defend Samoa Joe, but then admonish Booker T for “not settling it in the ring.”
  8. This show feels like it goes on forever.
  9. I just hate Brother Ray.
  10. This is two weeks in a row with a non-match main event.
