Jesse Eisenberg, star of the upcoming Adventureland will play poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings, an ensemble cast film about the murder that helped spawn the Beat Generation.
Chris Evans and Ben Whishaw will also star in the film, which will be directed by John Krokidas, who also wrote the script with his former Yale roommate, Austin Bunn.
Whishaw will play Lucien Carr, the Columbia University undergrad who brought together Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac (Evans) and William S. Burroughs.
Evans recently starred in Push and is currently filming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Whishaw was in The International and will appearing in The Tempest as well as Jane Campion’s Bright Star.
Krokidas made a short film called Slo-Mo in 2001 and is currently in pre-production on a feature of the same name.
