Worst Week Star Moves To ABC

News

Kyle Bornheimer, who starred in Worst Week on CBS this season, is moving on to a pilot at ABC.

While that’s not good news for Worst Week, the ABC project Bornheimer is joining now has its core cast in place. He’ll star opposite Alyssa Milano and Eric Christian Olsen in a comedy from Family Guy writer Ricky Blitt, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

ABC has also added former 24 star Reiko Aylesworth to its Jerry Bruckheimer pilot, Melinda McGraw to the Kelsey Grammer show and Arielle Kebbel to the comedy No Heroics, while at FOX, Emmy winner Alfre Woodard has joined the drama Maggie Hill.

The Blitt comedy stars Olsen (The Loop, Brothers & Sisters) as a guy torn between his new girlfriend (Milano) and a very needy best friend (Bornheimer). The cast will also feature Kelly Stables (Greek), Brad Small and Kurt Patino.

For Bornheimer, the pilot is formally in second position to Worst Week — but that show, which struggled to hold its lead-in audience after Two and a Half Men, is considered a long shot to return next season.

Aylesworth, who’s currently guesting on Lost, is joining Rupert Penry-Jones and Rochelle Aytes in the Bruckheimer pilot. She’ll play an amateur detective who helps former cop Penry-Jones solve cases.

McGraw, who had a recurring part on Mad Men last summer and has several sitcoms on her resume, will play the wife of Grammer’s former Wall Street tycoon, now laid low after losing his job. Kebbel (The Uninvited, Gilmore Girls) will play one of a group of B-list superheroes in No Heroics.

Finally, FOX’s Maggie Hill has added Woodard to its cast. The two-time Emmy winner, who appeared on NBC’s My Own Worst Enemy earlier this season, will play the mentor of the title character (Christina Cole), a surgeon who’s battling schizophrenia.
