Koscheck Off UFC 98 Card

News

According to a report from Sam Caplan at Five Ounces of Pain, Josh Koscheck has been removed from the already injury-plagued UFC 98 card due to a foot injury suffered in training.

Koscheck was scheduled to face Chris Wilson at the May event in Las Vegas, but recently notified the UFC that he would be withdrawing from the show.

Wilson is expected to remain on the UFC 98 card, but his opponent is unknown at this time. If a contending name isn’t found for Wilson, it’s entirely possible that he’ll be relegated to the undercard. It’s an unfortunate turn of events for both Koscheck and Wilson; the former Ultimate Fighter star has to rebound from a surprising loss to Paulo Thiago in February, and Wilson is looking to continue his ascent up the ladder in a division that is only getting tougher by the day.

Koscheck’s injury serves as yet another blow to UFC 98, a card which recently had to be re-constructed when the planned main event of Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar had to be rescheduled due to a Mir injury.
