Dana White has issued a public apology via his video blog for the comments used in a previous blog to describe Sherdog reporter Loretta Hunt’s anonymous source.
In addition to the public apology, we can report that White’s visibility when dealing with UFC issues is going to be greatly reduced. There will be no more video blogs, he’s going to reduce his interactions with the media, and he very likely will not be the public face of the company going forward.
This is a huge deal, and reducing his public profile is probably the best idea for White at this stage in the game. He’s a brilliant businessman for the fight game, but the company is now approaching the verge of mainstream acceptance and it’s going to take kid gloves to shepherd it all the way.
