Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos has a problem: she seemingly can’t make weight for any of her fights. At least not on the first try.
Santos weighed in at 152 pounds for her Saturday night fight with Hitomi Akano, putting her roughly seven pounds over the contracted weigh limit. She will have to lose 2.5 pounds within the next two hours, or else her fight on Saturday night will be cancelled because she’s not in the 6 pound limit.
If Santos does make weight, she’ll still forfeit 20% of her purse to Akano for being much heavier than she’s contracted to be.
