The State

In a news conference held Sunday Thomas Lennon announced some glorious news for fans of the Sketch Comedy show The State!

It seems the show that aired on MTV in the early 90’s is finally coming to DVD!!!!!

The glorious day?

“July 14th.” Lennon announced. “For real: Bastille Day. The whole goddamn thing. I have no idea why its coming out on Bastille Day, but its coming out on Bastille Day.”

On why it took so long to come to DVD, Lennon went on to say “There was a lot of music clearance issues, and then, you know, its a cult show,” he said. “The fans are die-hard, but theres not tons and tons of them.”

Lennon also said that the set is packed with extras, but some episodes have been changed due to those music issues. “It comes with $249 worth of pudding,” Lennon joked, referring to one of the series skits. “It has the crappy music on it. All the musics been—if it wasnt cleared, we had to redo it. And a lot of scenes that were cut—for good reason. They suck. So its got some incredibly sucky bonus materials, but it has commentaries on every single episode. Ive seen the package, so it exists.”

So there you have it State Fans! Mark your calendars and start saving you pennies! I know I am!
