10 Thoughts on TNA iMPACT! – 04.09.09

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

1) I find Scott Steiner’s complaint to Jeff Jarrett that Mick Foley was “booking matches that don’t make sense” to be one of the more unintentionally riotous statements ever on Impact. I do like the inclusion of The Motor City Machineguns in the main event scene.

2) About Suicide: In kayfabe terms, did TNA management seek someone to play the Suicide character, or did someone play the awful “Impact” game and decide that they wanted to be this character? They never really explained that as far as I can remember.

3) The new storyline with Rhino and Petty Officer Neal is just awful in every possible way. I’m not offended by using topical stories in a dramatic medium, but wrestling is just not the place for stuff like this. If you can’t think of anything better to do with Rhino, it’s time to let the guy go.

4) If I never hear Mick Foley say the word “tweak” again in my life I’ll be okay with that.

5) I would also be happy if TNA could set up a main event with one interview segment rather than spreading it out over several.

6) The guy they have on a date with ODB is brutally unfunny, and the whole thing is stupid.

7) I like the idea of Team 3D and Beer Money saving each other from attacks, I just wish I gave half a crap about Team 3D.

8) It’s too bad that they can’t find anything that interesting for Awesome Kong to do. She’s been the Knockouts Champion since October but can anyone remember anything memorable she’s done since then?

9) The TNA website has made mention of the fact that The Motor City Machineguns will be defending the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Titles at the “Lockdown” pay-per-view, but apparently they don’t want to announce this fact to their TV fans.

10) Speaking of the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champions, they just got totally jobbed out by one guy. I always hate it when handicap matches end with the advantaged team needing help.
