Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

WWE Superstars, the company’s newest weekly TV show, premiered tonight on WGN America (click here to find out where to get it in your area). Here are the results…

  • In the first match, Smackdown’s The Undertaker beat RAW’s Matt Hardy by countout, after Hardy went for a steel chair, then decided to leave the ring while the ref counted to ten. Jeff Hardy then attacked Matt, chasing him back into the ring, where he was on the receiving end of an Undertaker chokeslam.
  • In an ECW Championship #1 contender match, Christian def. Finlay, and will face ECW Champion Jack Swagger at Backlash.
  • RAW’s Cody Rhodes def. Shane McMahon by disqualification after hitting Rhodes with a chair. Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase were banned from ringside, and Shane finished things off with a coast-to-coast.

The announcers for the show were split, with Jim Ross and Todd Grisham calling the first match (taped Monday before RAW), and the ECW and RAW announce teams calling their respective matches (Striker and Mathews for match two and Lawler and Cole for the final bout, both taped on Tuesday).
